The Korea Digital Exchange, (CEO Seok-Jin Kim), the operator of the virtual asset exchange, Flybit, announced on the 11th that it has obtained ISMS certification for normal operation of the exchange's business in preparation for the revised Special Act (Act on Reporting and Use of Specific Financial Transaction Information) that will take effect in March next year.
The ISMS certification is a system that examines whether the information protection management system established, managed, and operated by an entity to protect its key information assets meets the certification criteria. In particular, a comprehensive evaluation of the suitability and operation status of the information protection management system established by companies and institutions will be granted certification only to businesses that pass the standards.
A seven-day ISMS certification main review survey was conducted from October 12th to the 20th. Flybit obtained certification in compliance with the standards for information protection management control items after rigorous screening of a total of 80 items, including 12 areas on requirements for protection measures in four areas related to the establishment and operation of the management system.
Flybit is the 9th among domestic virtual asset exchanges to acquire ISMS certification, and in consideration of the amendment to the Special Act, a dedicated information protection policy group was formed to strengthen information protection in addition to working with security experts internally in preparing a security policy system.
“Acquiring the ISMS certification means that the information security and information protection management capabilities of the virtual asset exchange have been recognized by the financial authorities,” said Se-kyung Oh, Chief Marketing Officer of Flybit. "We will work harder to maintain our products and provide safe and reliable service to our customers."
